Not the best part of the episode for a screen shot, but that dialogue sums up the plot for this release pretty nicely.  Nazi secrets, a Shocker plot, and an iron box.  Lot's of crazy Nazi imagery in this episode, too.  It ends on a cliffhanger, so stay tuned for the next episode coming soon!

Originally, I wanted to use this post to welcome our new member, Sjutton, who's helping us check translations on Kamen Rider - Season 1.  Without his help, we wouldn't have any of the episodes we're releasing.

But, there's something much more important I want to talk about.

Kamen Rider Decade - Live&Show Musical

With no further delay, KITsubs presents to you a project almost a year in the making!  Kamen Rider Decade Live&Show, The Musical!  In this special presentation, we see Kuuga (Onodera Yuusuke) learning what it is to be a Rider, a Shocker grunt with a heart of gold, and KickHopper and PunchHopper's version of "Who's on First."  Also, plenty of dance numbers!  Blade was fondly reminiscent, for some reason...

The Decade cast reprises their roles for this production.

ALSO:  Ryuusei Nakao is the voice of Ambassador Hell.  For those of you that don't know, he was the voice of Freeza in Dragonball Z.  One of my all time favorite voice actors.  It was such a pleasant surprise to hear him in this!

Secret Project Revealed!!

Do you know what significance today's date holds for Tokusatsu fans?  Today, February 19th, is Kunihiro Fujioka's birthday... better known as Hiroshi Fujioka, the original Kamen Rider!

And what better way to celebrate the birthday of the man that put the TOH! in Kamen Rider than by unveiling our new series.  Kamen Rider - Season 1!

The series that kicked off the long standing, and much loved franchise is one that has seemingly eluded the attention of sub groups over the years.  It has always been my personal favorite.  And now, thanks to the help of our two translators UK Windom and Sky79, we can finally bring this show to you.

First, we have the first FOUR episodes.  These were originally translated and timed by an anonymous poster on 4chan's /m/ forum about a year ago.  Apparently, anyway.  No information was given.  The scripts were posted with little fanfare, and no more were released.  When KITSubs first started, I retimed these scripts to work with the DVD quality raws at from Momotaros Raws Revolution, who graciously provides all of our raws.  Here, I'd further improved the timing.  As well as completely re-edited the scripts from begining to end, added the opening and ending themes, and uploaded them.  These aren't V2s of the previous scripts, these are basically brand new, with many changes and corrections.

And finally, we have the completely new episode 5, translated from scratch by us, and it will mark the start of our new project!  From 5 on, this will be KITsubs second dedicated project.  Expect alternating releases of both Kamen Rider and Skyrider in the future!

What can I say about this series that hasn't already been said?  It's a landmark.  It started a phenomenon.  But, disregarding all of that, it's a fantastic show.  There's a tone to these stories that feels unique to any other tokusatsu show...  unique to any Rider show, for that matter!  The stunts, the costumes, the music, it all feels perfect for the story being told.  And the sharp writing only helps moves those stories along.  If you've never watched an older Tokusatsu show before, you're in for a treat.  If you've got hesitations about watching a show that's celebrating it's 40th Anniversary this year, then give it a try anyway.  You'll be surprised how good these shows hold up!

Skyrider Episode 06!

Sorry for the long delay!  Between work, school, and the holidays, the KITsubs team was pretty bogged down.  Especially Mr. UK Windom, who somehow managed to fit this episode into his hectic workload.  However, we have a new translator who's been helping out with some scripts; Sky79 on the /m/subs forums!  So hopefully now we'll be able to keep a better pace.

In this episode, Hiroshi Tsukuba faces one of NeoShocker's most disgusting monsters yet.  MushroomMan is that kind of sickening grotesque that makes the skin on the back of your neck crawl.  Kamen Rider will use the kind, trusting heart of a young girl to help defeat this putrid monster!  There's also plenty more General Monster badass-ery, and a particularly BRUTAL scene involving stairs and a wheelchair.  Seriously, even with the late 70's special effects I was kind of startled.

Also, I'd like to announce a new project we're working on.  We'll call it Project IVIIIVIIII.  Thanks to the help of Sky79, I've decided to try working on another show that I've had my eye on for a long time.  I won't say too much now, but I have the script in my hands, and I'm slowly working on fixing it up.  Hopefully this will be a project that I can work on without too much help from UK Windom, so it won't take any time away from his work on Skyrider.
It's not Super-1, unfortunately.  For now, Super-1 is on indefinite hiatus.  There are too many fancy sci-fi terms for a struggling new translators to take on.  It will be a surprise, though!  You can also follow us on Twitter now, for more updates on the status of both projects as they happen!

Skyrider Episode 05!

In this episode; A little girl tugs at our heart strings, a monster makes an entirely unsurprising return, and Kamen Rider will prove just how much he loves smashing through walls.  Seriously, they should have just called this show "Kamen Rider Wallsmasher"
Pay attention to that first fight with VenomBeeMan.  It's an excellent fight scene, with some funky background music!

Now for some serious business.  The script for this release is probably NOT compatible with the raws available online.  There a video error in the original video we used to translate this episode that causes the video to go out of sync with the external subs.  For now, please download the MKV until we find a better raw.  I fixed the original video file as best as I could, and used that for the MKV.  You will notice a small defect in the video, but everything will play normally after that.

The man with the Golden Heart... 04.

Kamen Rider Super-1 episode 04.  A wedding?  Doppelgangers?  Did we stumble into the plot of a daytime soap opera?  Oh, never mind, space Kung Fu saves the day!  It's another great episode, and that monster design is pretty fantastic, too!

Also, I guess I spoke too soon last time.  Our translator is alive and well.  He was just... waiting for me to get off of my lazy butt and get these episodes out there.  And now that they're released, we can get on with our semi-regular release schedule again...

Well, kind of.  Unfortunately, this is the last stop for Super-1.  We never intended to continue the series after episode 1.  Originally, we only did episode 2 to finish the origin story of Super-1, which was a two-part story.  The reception for the first two episodes was so good that we continued on to 3 and 4.  But it comes down to a choice between struggling to continue subbing two shows, or working hard to complete one of them.  We might come back to it one day, but for now this will be the last Kamen Rider Super-1 episode we release.  There's a possibility that we could continue the show, but we'd need a second dedicated translator to help with the Super-1 releases.  See my plea for help last update for more information on what exactly we're looking for.  If you think you can help, please do!  Otherwise, pass the word along and maybe we can get two long-awaited Showa series finished.

Skyrider Episode 04!

Good gravy, it's been a while!  I apologize for that.  It was no fault of our trusty translator.  It took me way too long to get this episode done with QC and uploading.  Between job shifting, computer woes, and other obligations.  But, I've settled into my new job and now I have plenty of time to work on episodes...

BUT...
Our translator hasn't been around in a while.  So, as it stands now, I have one more release in the pipeline ready to come out tonight or tomorrow.  And the secret project that I've been slowly chipping away at.  But after that...  I don't know!  For now, we're on temporary hiatus until our translator is free.  And I'm sure he will be eventually, I just don't know when.  I'll let everyone know if anything changes.

If anyone would like to help with some scripts, let me know in the comments section and we'll work it out from there.  I'll tell you now, all I need is a very basic (timed) script.  I can work out the intricacies of the dialogue on my own.  I just need a guideline of what's being said.  If you'd be interested in joining the team, let us know and we'll do what we can to get the ball rolling!

OH YEAH, the episode...  this one's a little ROUGH.  You'd better have your man-tears tissues out for this one, guys.  General Monster is a supreme bad-man!
